Immigration Update

Finally, this odd rule introduced by Theresa May whilst she was Home Secretary in 2012 has been reversed to allow foreign national students to remain in the UK for up to 2 years to find work and seek a career after graduation. This will help the UK retain the brightest minds rather than get rid of them.

May’s rule change in 2012 forced foreign national graduates to leave the UK within 4 months of graduating, as part of the hostile environment she created. Sadly, this does nothing for those students who after 2012 were forced to leave the UK, but it is a step in the right direction for sure.
